One of our customers, specialized in the pharmaceutical industry, ordered from us the refurbishment of a used IMA CP18 case packer (year 2016).

The particularity of this file was that the machine, manufactured in Europe, had been installed in Canada, and therefore we had to process with its EC standards compliance (documentary and legislative aspects). In particular, the voltage in Canada is not the same as in France: the case packer was wired in 208 V 3-ph, and all the motorization had to be updated to 380 V 3-ph.

The operation also included:

  • The maintenance of the machine: cleaning, usual checks, replacement of the infeed and outfeed belts, replacement of the filters, of the pneumatic organs when necessary, revision of the vacuum circuit …
  • The replacement of the PLC and touch screen by Siemens last generation models (S7-1500 and Simatic HMI TP900).
  • The adaptation of the used case packer to 4 new cases and 12 new cartons’ formats.
  • Our customer also wished that an “aggregation” control system was set up. This was realized in partnership with the Italian company SEA vision, manufacturer of these modules. A conveyor for controlling the aggregation was also installed at the outfeed of the machine.

This file mobilized 2 technicians during 3 months.

This used case packer will in a few days be delivered and installed by us in our customer’s factory.
