At the request of one of our customers, we undertook a unique challenge involving Bosch SIG equipment (2003), comprising an RGS-8 bagging machine and a KG3 cartoning machine.
In order to meet the specifications, it was necessary to shorten the bagging machine so that it could be installed in the production area.
In addition to an in-depth mechanical study, this retrofit project involved numerous stages:
• Power-up and preliminary tests
• Complete dismantling/reassembly of the frame and associated components
• Cleaning and maintenance
• Design and assembly of new components
• Retrofit of the HMI
• Installation of several barcode readers
• Formatting of the machine for a new bag format and three case formats
• Installation and testing on the production site
Regular customer visits were organised to monitor and validate the work on this project, which lasted over a year.
